The Skyliner Fish and Chip shop is one of the oldest established and well known 'chippys' in Leeds. We are still run by the same
family as when we opened in 1962 and are celebrating over 60 years of serving fish and chips to the community.
The name Skyliner originated from New York.
Johnny's wife Ellen, while visiting family there came across “Skyliner Diner” - the name immediately appealed to her in neon lights.
In 1974 Johnny & Ellen’s son David took over with his wife Elaine with their eldest son Alvin & his wife Sam taking the reigns in 2007 their daughter Ella has just become the 4th
generation to take up frying and the rest, as they say, is history.
We are trialing a new vegetarian pan, we have set up a completely separate pan to enable us to offer veggie options.
We can assure you that no fish or meat products will be cooked in this pan.
We pride ourselves on buying only the best wild caught Icelandic haddock and best quality potatoes, cooked in the finest beef dripping, and of course there's the batter ... well that's a
secret!
